About

Emily Shaw

Story + Sequential Artist

Emily Shaw is an artist and current senior in Animation and Game Arts, with a minor in Illustration at Moore College of Art and Design, and a 4-year prestigious Visionary Women Scholar. While she is currently honing her craft in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, her experiences were formed in a number of other places throughout the U.S, including California, Minnesota, New Hampshire, and Washington State. Since an early age Emily has always skewed creative, whether that was working in chalk pastels, Play-Doh, or writing short stories for her friends and family.

Emily began seriously pursuing art in her junior year of high school, and is currently aiming for a career in the animation industry, with a focus on storyboarding and other facets of pre-production. Emily draws influences from everywhere—from books, TV, video games, and table-top RPGs—but her experiences as an art student and Visionary Women Scholar surrounded by like-and-unlike-minded people have been invaluable to her growth as an artist and human.

Emily is proficient on both Mac and PC platforms and across the Adobe suite, including Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, and Flash/Animate, as well as IOS Procreate, and Toonboom’s Storyboard Pro.
